Housekeeping Manager

Immediate Start | £20-23 per Hour | 2-Month Contract (With Perm Potential!)

Location: Premium College Campus - Cambridge

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Flexibility required for key summer weekends)

Are you a natural leader who loves a fast-paced environment and isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves? Do you know how to motivate a big team, keep standards sky-high, and solve problems on the fly?

We are looking for a dynamic Housekeeping Manager to step in immediately and lead our clients department through their bustling summer peak. This is a vital 2-month temporary contract, but for the right person, it could open the door to a permanent career opportunity!

The Role: What You’ll Do

As our Head of Department, you won’t just sit behind a desk. You will be the driving force behind a large, diverse cleaning operation.

Lead & Inspire: Manage, motivate, and train a large team of cleaners and supervisors, ensuring morale and standards stay high.

Operations & Quality Control: Allocate workloads, manage agency staff/contract cleaning companies, and run quality assurance checks to keep the campus pristine.

Safety First: Take ownership of COSHH, risk assessments, manual handling, and crucial H&S practices (like Legionella flushing records).

Budgeting & Procurement: Oversee the housekeeping budget and handle the procurement of all materials and equipment.

Collaborate: Work side-by-side with the Bursar to optimise staffing levels and drive continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

A Proven Leader: Experience managing and motivating diverse teams

Hands-on & Proactive: A "can-do" attitude, a change mindset, and the ability to find pragmatic solutions quickly.

Organised & Adaptable: Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the flexibility to work some weekends during our busy summer commercial period.

Tech & Budget Savvy: IT literate (Microsoft Office) with experience managing budgets. Knowledge of room booking systems, ANUK requirements, or higher education environments is a major plus
