Electrical Biased Maintenance Engineer
Location: Northampton
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Shift Patterns
Days: 6:00am – 6:00pm | 4 on / 4 off
Nights: 9:00pm – 6:00am | Sunday – Thursday
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Biased Maintenance Engineer to join a leading regulated manufacturing business in Northampton.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established engineering team responsible for maintaining high-speed production machinery in a modern manufacturing environment. You'll play a vital role in ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
Respond quickly to breakdowns, carrying out effective fault finding and root cause analysis.
Maintain and repair PLC-controlled, high-speed production and packaging machinery.
Work on a variety of equipment including industrial ovens, microwaves, HV transformers, slicers, sealers, metal detectors, and refrigeration systems.
Support equipment optimisation, machine start-ups, and performance monitoring.
Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system.
Complete detailed shift handovers and engineering reports.
Support and mentor apprentices and junior engineers where required.
Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety, food safety, and company procedures.About You
Time-served Electrical Engineer with a recognised apprenticeship.
Minimum of 3 years' post-apprenticeship maintenance experience.
Strong multi-skilled engineering background.
Experience within a regulated or high-speed manufacturing environment.
Good working knowledge of PLCs, automation, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety and quality standards.Desirable Skills
Experience working with high-voltage systems.
Knowledge of industrial ovens or microwave technology.What's on Offer?
