Graduate Engineer – Major Infrastructure Project
Location: Birmingham / West Midlands
Job Type: Permanent
Red Sky Personnel are working alongside a well-established civil engineering contractor self-delivering works on one of the UK’s largest infrastructure schemes. Due to continued project growth, they are looking to appoint a Graduate Engineer to support the delivery of works on a major infrastructure package in the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading contractor working on a nationally significant project involving complex civil engineering and infrastructure works.
The Role
The Graduate Engineer will support site engineering and project delivery activities, gaining hands-on experience across all aspects of civil engineering operations on a major infrastructure project.
Key responsibilities will include:
Supporting setting out activities for earthworks, drainage, highways, RC structures, and infrastructure works
Assisting Site Engineers with technical delivery and site coordination
Interpreting drawings, specifications, and engineering information
Supporting QA checks, ITPs, and site documentation
Assisting with as-built records and daily site reporting
Working closely with engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors
Learning and developing understanding of construction methods and sequencing
Supporting health & safety compliance on site
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Strong interest in civil engineering and infrastructure delivery
Basic understanding of setting out and surveying (placement experience desirable)
Good communication skills and willingness to learn
CSCS card (or willingness to obtain)
Familiarity with Leica, Trimble or total stations (desirable but not essential)
Strong team player with a proactive attitude
