What's the role all about?
As a Production Maintenance Technician, you'll play a vital role in maintaining, repairing and improving production equipment to maximise uptime, reliability and manufacturing performance.
Working within a highly skilled Engineering team, you'll carry out preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns and support continuous improvement initiatives across a modern manufacturing facility.
This is a hands-on engineering role where no two days are the same.
Key responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production equipment
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns using systematic fault-finding techniques
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
Support production changeovers and equipment set-ups
Improve machine reliability and minimise downtime
Work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams
Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system
Support equipment upgrades and engineering projects
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Promote safe working practices and comply with Health & Safety legislation
Ensure engineering work is completed to GMP and company quality standards
What you'll need
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
Engineering Apprenticeship or Level 3 Engineering qualification (NVQ/BTEC or equivalent)
Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment
Mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience carrying out preventative maintenance
Excellent problem-solving ability
Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
Desirable
Multi-skilled engineering experience
PLC fault-finding experience
Welding or fabrication experience
Experience working with automated production equipment
GMP or regulated manufacturing experience
Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement knowledge
