An ambitious and inclusive secondary school in Dagenham is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Drama Teacher to join its Performing Arts department on a full-time maternity cover from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging Drama lessons that encourage creativity, confidence and performance skills. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and ECTs with a genuine passion for Drama education.

The Role

Teach Drama across KS3 and KS4.
Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that inspire creativity and achievement.
Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback to support learning.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed.
Contribute to extra-curricular Drama productions and wider Performing Arts activities where appropriate.
Work collaboratively within a supportive and well-established department.

The Ideal Candidate

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Has experience teaching Drama in a UK secondary school.
Demonstrates excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
Has strong curriculum knowledge and a passion for Performing Arts.
Is committed to raising attainment and supporting students of all abilities, including those with SEND and EAL.
Has an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
