Site Engineer – Major Infrastructure Project
Location: Birmingham / West Midlands
Job Type: Permanent
Red Sky Personnel are working alongside a well-established civil engineering contractor self-delivering works on one of the UK’s largest infrastructure schemes. Due to continued project growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of works on a major infrastructure package in the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading contractor working on a nationally significant project involving complex civil engineering and infrastructure works.
The Role
The Site Engineer will support the technical delivery of site operations, ensuring works are set out accurately, delivered safely, and in line with programme and quality requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
Setting out for a range of civils works including earthworks, drainage, highways, RC structures, and infrastructure elements
Assisting with site engineering activities and supporting senior engineers
Interpreting drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Carrying out quality assurance checks and supporting QA documentation
Assisting with as-built records and site record keeping
Coordinating with site teams, subcontractors, and engineers
Ensuring works are delivered to specification and within tolerance
Supporting health & safety compliance on site
Requirements
Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
CSCS card (Green/Blue depending on experience)
Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects (placement or post-grad experience considered)
Strong understanding of setting out and surveying techniques
Experience or exposure to earthworks, drainage, highways, or RC works
Ability to interpret drawings and technical information
Experience using Leica, Trimble or total station equipment (desirable)
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
