SmartSourcing are recruiting three Senior Contracts Managers to join a national infrastructure programme, supporting Contract Management within Procurement Operations. These roles offer £650 p/d (Umbrella), BPSS clearance, and require 3 days per week onsite in London or Birmingham. Contract lengths include one role to end of September and two roles to March 2027.
Role Overview
As a Senior Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in driving commercial governance, managing contracts, and ensuring strategic value across complex, publicly funded programmes. You will support delivery teams, lead contract administration, and provide commercial assurance across corporate contracts ensuring compliance with Utilities Contract Regulations and organisational obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead commercial and contract administration across contracts for major programme phases.
Provide commercial assurance, governance, and expert guidance to Directors, Heads of Department, Contract Managers and Project Managers.
Coach and supervise contract teams to ensure consistency and technical competence.
Identify and manage emerging contract issues, disputes, and change provisions, engaging legal/claims expertise where required.
Support senior decision making, ensuring business cases and commercial reporting reflect accurate positions.
Draft and assure contract change instructions across corporate contracts.
Develop procedures to recognise contract risks and manage resolution effectively.
Skills Competencies
Strong ability to coordinate and assure contract management tasks.
Excellent analytical, commercial and negotiation skills.
Skilled in leading stakeholders through contract change processes.
Strong contract risk management capability.
Knowledge Requirements
