Business Analyst - Card Tokenization/Payments

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to support the delivery of key card payment initiatives, with a strong focus on the implementation of card tokenization capabilities.

This is a long-term banking assignment based in Brussels, working on a hybrid basis with 3 days per week onsite.

The consultant will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, payment scheme partners, technology providers, vendors and development teams, ensuring successful end-to-end delivery while maintaining alignment with regulatory, security and customer experience requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and document business requirements, functional specifications and target operating processes.
• Support and coordinate the implementation of card tokenization capabilities.
• Coordinate integration activities involving payment schemes, issuers, processors, wallet providers and internal stakeholders.
• Manage dependencies, risks, issues, milestones and delivery follow-up.
• Validate solution design and ensure alignment with business objectives and customer journeys.
• Support testing activities including UAT preparation, execution, defect management and production readiness.
• Manage vendor governance activities, action follow-up and escalation where required.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, RAID logs, action plans and status reports.
• Organise and support steering committees, working groups and stakeholder meetings.
• Provide clear executive-level reporting on progress, risks, dependencies and decisions.
• Ensure effective communication across all project stakeholders.

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in financial services, preferably within payments, cards or digital wallets.
• Strong experience or exposure to card tokenization, digital payment solutions, card schemes or wallet technologies.
• Proven experience working as a Business Analyst.
• Experience delivering complex payments projects involving multiple stakeholders and third-party providers.
• Experience supporting project governance, testing coordination and go-live readiness.
• Ability to manage external vendors and technology partners.

Nice to Have/Strong Assets

• Knowledge of Click-to-Pay.
• Experience with card-on-file tokenization.
• Experience with network tokenization.
• Exposure to card schemes, issuers, processors, wallet providers or E-commerce payment technologies.
• Experience with payment scheme or processor delivery follow-up.
