Proactive are urgently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join our client, a well-established engineering company based out in Bristol. This role would suit someone with a background in mechanical fitting, machine building, precision assembly, or industrial machinery manufacturing.

Role Details :

Location: Bristol (BS31)

Pay rate:

PAYE Permanent Contract:
£16.50 per hour
Overtime available
37 hours per week
Flexible working hours
Umbrella Contract:
£20.00-£25.00 per hour (via Umbrella company)Normal Working hours: 37hrs / week (Flexible working hours)

Key Responsibilities

Bench fitting and mechanical assembly
Building mechanical sub-assemblies
Setting up and aligning machine frames
Setting up and aligning tooling to specified tolerances
Functional testing and fault finding
Using conventional machine tools (lathes, milling machines, grinders, etc.) and hand tools
Identifying opportunities to improve quality and reduce costs
Supporting customer site visits for machine commissioning, testing, and fault resolution
Working closely with other departments to achieve business objectives
Following company procedures and health & safety requirementsSkills & Experience Likely Required

Experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Machine Builder
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience with precision alignment and assembly
Fault-finding and mechanical testing experience
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to travel occasionally for machine commissioningHow to Apply:
