Teaching Assistant
Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils in schools across the Southampton area. You will provide a combination of 1:1 support and small‑group assistance, helping pupils who may require additional guidance with their learning, confidence, or classroom engagement. The Role:
Support teaching and learning within the classroom
Provide 1:1 support and assist with small‑group activities
Help pupils remain focused, engaged, and confident in lessons
Assist with classroom resources and learning activities
Support behaviour management and positive classroom routines
Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children or young people
Patient, supportive, and confident in a classroom environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Adaptable and responsive to varying pupil needs
Reliable, proactive, and organised
Backgrounds in childcare, youth work, coaching, or education welcomed
Graduates seeking school experience encouraged to apply

Position: Teaching Assistant

Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Full‑time, term‑time
Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.66 per hour
Key Stages: Primary / Secondary
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
Experience working with children desirable
SEN experience beneficial but not essential
Safeguarding training can be provided
