We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Stockport(SK6) from September.
This is a full-time opportunity within a mainstream secondary setting, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to help students engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
The role will involve supporting students in lessons, delivering targeted interventions, and providing individual and small-group support where required. While some students may have additional learning needs, this position is based within a mainstream school environment and is ideal for candidates who are passionate about helping young people succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Support students in lessons across a range of subjects
Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups
Assist teachers in maintaining an engaging and productive classroom environment
Support students with varying learning needs to access the curriculum
Encourage student participation, confidence, and independence
Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams
Help monitor student progress and wellbeing
Requirements
Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, coaching, support, or care setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Positive, proactive, and adaptable approach
Ability to build strong relationships with students and staff
A genuine passion for supporting young people in their education
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
