About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lab Infrastructure Engineer to support and evolve a complex technical lab environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on infrastructure professional with expertise across networking, Servers, virtualization, operating systems, and automation. You will be responsible for deploying, maintaining, and optimizing lab infrastructure while partnering closely with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable environments.

A key focus of this position is driving operational excellence through automation, security compliance, and Agile/Scrum-aligned infrastructure practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy, automate, and maintain lab infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, and software systems.
  • Provision, configure, and troubleshoot lab equipment and infrastructure.
  • Ensure lab environments meet security and compliance requirements, including network segmentation, patch management, and system hardening.
  • Provide architectural-level support across networking, server, storage, and virtualized environments.
  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of Layer 2 networking, VLANs, and core infrastructure services.
  • Partner with engineering teams to define, implement, and support lab configurations and technical requirements.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and consistency.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including installation procedures, network diagrams, and automation workflows.
  • Support lab life cycle management activities, including inventory tracking, equipment intake, deployment, and decommissioning.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality support and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies and follow development best practices for infrastructure-related coding activities.
Essential Requirements Must Have
  • 5-10 years of relevant infrastructure engineering Experience in a lab, data centre, enterprise, or similar technical environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical Experience .
  • Strong expertise in at least 2-3 of the following areas:
    • Networking
    • Server hardware
    • Virtualization
    • Operating Systems (Windows and Linux)
    • Coding/Scripting
  • Hands-on Experience implementing and supporting security compliance requirements.
  • Experience administering both Windows and Linux environments.
  • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and technical documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Ansible.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
  • Experience supporting large-scale engineering, development, or validation lab environments.
  • Familiarity with emerging server, storage, and networking technologies.
