We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Teaching Assistant to join the Nursery class within a welcoming Welsh-medium primary school. This role is perfect for someone who has a genuine passion for supporting young children during their early years of education and helping them thrive in a nurturing learning environment.
About the Role:
• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities for Nursery-aged children
• Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment
• Support children's learning through play, exploration, and structured activities
• Assist with daily routines, including snack time, outdoor learning, and transitions throughout the day
• Provide personal care where required, including supporting children with toileting, nappy changing, and toilet training in line with the school's policies and procedures
• Encourage children's social, emotional, language, and physical development
• Promote the use of the Welsh language throughout the school day (appropriate to your level of Welsh)
• Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and school policies at all times
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider school staff to meet the needs of all pupils
What We're Looking For:
• A genuine interest in working with young children within an early years setting
• A warm, patient, and positive attitude
• Confidence in supporting children's personal care needs, including toileting and nappy changing
• Reliability, flexibility, and willingness to learn
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Welsh language skills are desirable, and applicants should be willing to support learning through the medium of Welsh
• Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential
