Commissioning Engineer (Audio Visual)

Location: London Area, remote working available

Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 17:30

Salary: £45,000– £55,000

Role Overview

An established and growing technology integration business is looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join its project delivery team.

This role is responsible for commissioning and integrating Audio Visual (AV) systems across new build developments, refurbishment projects and live occupied environments. The successful candidate will have a strong technical understanding of AV technologies and their integration with IT networks.

You will work closely with Project Managers, technical teams, consultants, contractors and end clients to ensure successful project delivery, producing commissioning documentation, carrying out system testing and verification, and supporting the successful handover of completed installations.

The role also involves contributing to continuous improvement across commissioning processes and supporting the transition of completed projects into service and support.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

Commission and integrate complex AV systems across multiple project environments.

Produce commissioning documentation, testing records and verification reports.

Review system schematics and validate AV designs and architectures.

Work closely with project teams to deliver successful project outcomes.

Liaise with consultants, contractors and clients throughout project delivery.

Identify risks and escalate issues appropriately.

Support project closeout activities and successful client handover.

Accurately record project time and commissioning activities.

Technical Responsibilities

Demonstrable experience in:

Audio Visual system commissioning

AV signal flow and system architecture

Audio DSP

Video distribution systems

Video processing

Broadcast systems

Conferencing technologies

Control systems

Microsoft Teams Rooms

Zoom Rooms

Network deployment, testing and verification

AV over IP (AVoIP)

Network protocols and infrastructure

System programming across a range of AV platforms

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have:

Strong knowledge of AV commissioning processes and industry standards.

Experience commissioning systems ranging from meeting rooms through to large-scale event spaces.

Experience working alongside consultants, contractors and client stakeholders.

Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Professional approach with excellent client-facing skills.

Commitment to continuous learning and technical development.
