About the Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading global audio-visual integrator delivering high-quality AV and event services across a range of international client partnerships.
Our client is seeking an experienced Lead AV Engineer to join their Projects team. This role plays a critical part in overseeing on-site commissioning activities, ensuring all technical works are delivered within project parameters, and providing clear technical direction to site-based teams.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Technical Manager, who owns the technical design and provides key project clarity, documentation, and off-site testing support.

Role Overview
The Lead AV Engineer will be responsible for leading on-site commissioning activities, ensuring technical readiness, and driving delivery in line with project requirements.
The role will involve hands-on technical configuration, system testing, team leadership, and coordination across commissioning phases through to final handover.
Key Responsibilities
Commissioning & Project Preparation
Lead commissioning activities at the front end of projects in preparation for deployment of technical tasks.
Take technical architectural detail from the Technical Manager and develop system configurations and documentation in advance of factory testing and site works, including:
Video set-ups
Audio configurations
Wireless frequency coordination
Firmware updates and testing
General equipment configuration
UI workflow testing with system configurations
AVIT schedule reviews
Testing & Configuration
Create test plans and test sheets in collaboration with the Technical Manager.
Support and participate in factory testing alongside the production department.
Conduct network VLAN and patching testing prior to second fix activities with the AVIT team.
Site Leadership & Delivery
Lead commissioning engineers assigned to projects, managing daily tasks and project milestones against the master programme.
Complete commissioning test sheets with site engineers.
Manage snag lists and oversee close-out activities following direction from the Project Manager and Technical Manager.
Ensure effective knowledge transfer, supporting transition and training teams.
Essential Skills and Experience
Minimum of three years’ corporate experience in a similar AV engineering role.
Extensive knowledge of audio-visual systems and technologies.
Strong understanding of event spaces, including audio, video, and lighting systems (digital and analogue).
Ability to multitask and work under pressure to strict deadlines.
Client-facing experience with a calm and professional approach under pressure.
Strong communication, time management, presentation, and organisational skills.
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to work.
Ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong initiative and problem-solving capability.
Customer-focused with a professional, friendly, and helpful approach.
Desirable Skills and Certifications
