We are working with a number of welcoming Welsh-medium primary schools across Cardiff that are looking for enthusiastic Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistants to join their teams. Whether you're seeking full-time work, part-time hours, or flexible day-to-day placements, we have opportunities to suit your availability.
This role is perfect for anyone considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, social work, childcare, healthcare, or another child-focused profession. The Role
As a Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers to support pupils throughout the school day. Your responsibilities may include:
Providing classroom support during lessons delivered through the medium of Welsh
Working one-to-one or with small groups to reinforce learning
Assisting pupils with literacy, numeracy, and classroom activities
Promoting the use of the Welsh language in everyday learning
Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting pupils' wellbeing
Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
What We're Looking For
Fluent Welsh speaker with strong verbal and written communication skills
Positive, enthusiastic, and dependable approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Passion for supporting children and helping them succeed
Ability to adapt and work confidently in different school settings
Previous experience working with children is welcomed but not required
