Teaching Assistant - PMLD School

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a specialist PMLD school that is looking to add Teaching Assistants to its team. The school supports pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and is looking for reliable, resilient and compassionate individuals who are committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
The Role
Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists and support staff, you'll play an important part in helping pupils access learning, develop communication skills and build independence. You'll support children throughout the school day, adapting to their individual needs and helping create a safe, structured and positive learning environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing one-to-one and small group support.
Supporting pupils with sensory learning and communication activities.
Assisting with personal care, feeding and mobility where required.
Encouraging engagement, confidence and independence.
Supporting teachers with classroom preparation and daily routines.
Working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver the best outcomes for pupils.
Promoting safeguarding and ensuring every child is supported to thrive.We're Looking For Someone Who:
Is patient, dependable and able to build positive relationships.
Can remain calm under pressure and adapt to different situations.
Works well as part of a team.
Has experience supporting children or vulnerable people (desirable but not essential).
Is keen to learn and develop within specialist education.What You'll Get
