We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established marine engineering company for an experienced Industrial Painter to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of marine engineering projects, preparing and applying protective coatings to high-quality standards within a busy workshop and site environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare steel surfaces through cleaning, masking, sanding, and abrasive preparation.
Apply industrial paint systems including primers, undercoats, and topcoats using spray, brush, and roller techniques.
Mix paints and coatings in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.
Carry out touch-up work and repairs where required.
Ensure coatings meet quality and thickness specifications.
Maintain painting equipment and keep work areas clean and safe.
Follow all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
Work closely with fabrication and engineering teams to meet project deadlines.
Requirements
Previous experience as an Industrial Painter, Marine Painter, or Protective Coatings Applicator.
Experience with airless and conventional spray painting.
Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and industrial coating systems.
Ability to read and follow technical instructions and paint specifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
ICATS, or similar industry certifications are advantageous but not essential.
