This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure programme and develop their commercial expertise within one of the UK's most strategically important sectors. Working alongside experienced commercial and project delivery teams, you will gain exposure to complex projects, NEC contracts and a highly regulated project environment.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of major nuclear defence infrastructure projects based in the Glasgow area.
The successful candidate will assist with the administration and management of NEC contracts, support cost control and forecasting activities, and contribute to maintaining strong commercial governance across multiple infrastructure work packages. Key Responsibilities

Commercial Management

Support the commercial management of projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from pre-contract activities through to final account settlement.
Assist in the administration and management of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
Support change management processes including early warnings, compensation events and quotations.
Contribute to maintaining commercial governance and contractual compliance across multiple projects.

Cost Control and Reporting

Assist in the preparation and review of cost plans, estimates and commercial reports.
Support cost forecasting, budget monitoring and financial reporting activities.
Help assess applications for payment and monitor project expenditure.
Contribute to benchmarking exercises and commercial performance reviews.

Procurement and Tender Support

Assist with the preparation of tender documentation and commercial evaluations.
Support contractor assessments and procurement activities.
Participate in cost reviews and commercial analysis to support project decision-making.
Assist in managing supply chain and subcontractor commercial activities.

Contract Administration

Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
Support the management of contract correspondence and contractual communications.
Assist in administering CEMAR actions, workflows and documentation.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements and governance processes.

Stakeholder Engagement

Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, planners and commercial colleagues.
Support effective communication with clients, contractors and supply chain partners.
Attend project meetings and contribute to commercial discussions and reporting activities.
Assist in managing multiple NEC contract packages across a range of infrastructure disciplines.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, construction, engineering or other regulated sectors.
Working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
Understanding of change management processes, compensation events and contract administration.
Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
British National status, due to project security requirements.

Qualifications

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
MRICS accreditation, or actively working towards chartership, is desirable.

Desirable Experience

Experience working within defence, nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
Knowledge and experience of CEMAR contract management software.
Client-side project experience.
Experience supporting major infrastructure or capital project delivery programmes.
