GSL Education London Branch is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced English Teacher to join a welcoming coeducational secondary school and Sixth Form in Hackney. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a passionate English Teacher who enjoys delivering engaging lessons and helping students achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities of the English Teacher:

Plan and deliver engaging English Language and English Literature lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 if appropriate.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students can thrive.
Assess, monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback.
Prepare students for GCSE and, where applicable, A-Level examinations.
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of students with different abilities.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with the school's policies.
Work closely with colleagues to develop and share high-quality teaching resources.
Attend departmental meetings, parents' evenings and other school events as required.
Support the wider life of the school through pastoral responsibilities and enrichment activities.
Requirements for the English Teacher:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Previous experience working as an English Teacher in a secondary school.
Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for English.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young people.
Ability to motivate students and raise attainment.
A collaborative and professional approach to working with colleagues.
An enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
