🏫 About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced High Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive and inclusive school in Blackpool. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in raising attainment and supporting pupils across the primary/secondary phase.
As an HLTA, you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences, lead small group interventions, and occasionally cover whole classes in the absence of a teacher.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging lessons
Lead whole-class learning in the teacher's absence
Deliver targeted intervention programmes to support pupil progress
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with diverse needs
Assist in assessing, recording, and reporting on pupil development
Promote positive behaviour and an inclusive learning environment
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and wider staff
✅ Requirements
HLTA qualification or equivalent relevant experience
Proven experience working within a school setting
Strong classroom management skills
Good understanding of the UK curriculum (KS1-KS4 or relevant stage)
Ability to adapt teaching strategies to support all learners
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
⭐ Desirable
Experience delivering intervention programmes
Experience supporting SEND pupils
First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain)
