This is an opportunity for an Industrial Hygienist to work with our client, who owns and operates the Fawley refinery and petrochemicals facility, supporting a range of monitoring, assessment and advisory activities within a COMAH Tier 1 environment.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a highly skilled Industrial Hygiene team and contribute to workforce health protection through exposure assessment and risk control.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake planned and ad hoc exposure monitoring surveys, alongside qualitative assessments, to evaluate potential exposure to chemical and physical agents
Provide practical advice on appropriate control measures to mitigate risks to health
Prepare clear, accurate reports on workplace exposure assessments and track associated recommendations
Support the delivery of Industrial Hygiene training to employees, including topics such as hazardous substances, physical agents, and exposure control measures
Assist with turnaround activities, including the design and testing of confined space ventilation plans
Carry out reactive and emergency response monitoring when required Requirements
Proven experience working as an Industrial Hygienist, ideally within a heavy industrial or high-risk environment
BOHS modules M501 (Measurement of Hazardous Substances), M503 (Assessment and Control of Noise), M505 (Control of Hazardous Substances), and M507 (Health Effects of Hazardous Substances)
Strong understanding of workplace exposure risks and Industrial Hygiene control strategies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical reports using Microsoft Office applications Additional Information
Inside IR35 - rates advertised are PAYE
100% site based - no hybrid
Ideally a full-time position (37.5 hours per week), although part-time will be considered (minimum 3 days per week)
A dynamic role requiring both technical expertise and strong stakeholder engagement
A valid driving licence is essential for travel to and around site
