Client Business Manager - Outsourcing📍 Oxford | Hybrid & Flexible Working
I'm currently partnered with Shaw Gibbs, a Top 35 accountancy and business advisory firm, to recruit a Client Business Manager to join their growing Outsourcing team based in Oxford.

The Opportunity
As a Client Business Manager, you will manage a portfolio of clients, acting as a trusted adviser and key point of contact. You'll work closely with businesses to understand their needs, deliver high-quality management information, and identify opportunities to improve processes through technology and digital solutions.This role offers a mix of client relationship management, technical accounting responsibilities, business partnering, and team leadership within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships across a portfolio of clients, becoming a trusted adviser to their business.
Understand client requirements and identify opportunities to add value and expand services.
Drive a digital-first approach, leveraging the Shaw Gibbs technology stack to improve efficiency and reporting.
Oversee all day-to-day data processing and treasury activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Produce complex management accounts and financial reporting for clients.
Review and analyse financial results, KPIs, forecasts, risks, and opportunities.
Ensure accounting systems remain accurate and up to date across your client portfolio.
Review VAT returns, EC Sales Lists and Intrastat returns.
Prepare basic statutory accounts and supporting audit files.
Assist with budgets, cashflow forecasting and client training on accounting systems.
Support new business proposals, tenders and client onboarding activities.
Collaborate with tax, payroll and other specialist teams to deliver a joined-up client service.
Monitor team workloads, budgets and deadlines while contributing to internal reporting.
Mentor and develop junior team members through effective leadership and coaching.About You
Shaw Gibbs is keen to speak with candidates who have at least 4-5 years' UK accounting experience, gained either within:
A Practice Outsourcing team, or
A senior Management Accountant / Finance Business Partner role within industry.Ideally, you will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, although part-qualified and Qualified by Experience (QBE) candidates will also be considered.
Desired Skills & Experience
Strong client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
A digital mindset with experience using technology to streamline finance processes.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Good technical accounting knowledge, including UK GAAP (IFRS knowledge advantageous).
Experience with Xero and advanced Excel skills.
Exposure to Sage, QuickBooks, Dext, Silverfin and/or CCH would be beneficial.What's on Offer?
