We specialise in complex, tight-tolerance work, machining a wide range of materials from carbon steels through to stainless and exotic alloys. Our continued growth is driven by investment in people, machines and facilities. We’re now looking for a CMM Inspector to strengthen our inspection team.

The Role

As a CMM Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring all manufactured components meet customer specifications and the highest quality standards. Working within our modern inspection department, you will carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections using industry-leading CMM equipment and conventional measuring instruments.

IMS Impact (700 x 600 x 500mm) with QCT controls.

Our ZEISS ACCURA II is one of the most capable CMM systems in the UK, providing exceptional accuracy, multi-sensor capability and the capacity to inspect large, complex components.

Key responsibilities for the CMM Inspector role:

* Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision machined components.

* Operate and program ZEISS, Mitutoyo and IMS CMM equipment.

* Create, modify and maintain CMM inspection programs where required.

* Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications.

* Use a wide range of inspection equipment including micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, height gauges and other precision measuring instruments.

* Produce accurate inspection reports and maintain quality documentation.

* Identify and investigate non-conforming products, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.

* Work closely with Production, Engineering and Manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues.

* Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality procedures and customer requirements.

* Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Skills & experience required for the CMM Inspector role:

* Previous experience as a CMM Inspector within a precision engineering or CNC machining environment.

* Experience operating CMM equipment.

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

* Good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

* Experience using a variety of precision measuring equipment.

* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable experience for the CMM Inspection role:

* Experience programming ZEISS CALYPSO software.

* Experience with Mitutoyo or QCT-controlled CMMs.

* Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems.

* Experience inspecting components for aerospace, defence, oil & gas, automotive, or other high-precision industries.

If you're an experienced CMM Inspector looking to work with state-of-the-art inspection equipment in a business that invests in quality, technology and its people, we'd love to hear from you.
