PDI / Sales Preparation Vehicle Technician

£33,600-£35,600 Basic | OTE £36,960-£39,160 | Monday to Friday | No Customer Contact

Are you a Vehicle Technician looking for a better work-life balance without sacrificing your earnings?

Due to continued growth, our client - a progressive and highly successful automotive group - is looking to recruit several PDI / Sales Preparation Vehicle Technicians to join their busy Sales Preparation Centre.

This is an excellent opportunity for either a Level 2 or Level 3 Vehicle Technician who enjoys mechanical work but wants to avoid the pressures of a traditional dealership service department. You'll be preparing quality used vehicles for retail sale in a modern, well-equipped workshop alongside experienced Technicians and Master Technicians who are always happy to offer support.

If you're looking for a role where quality is valued over speed, with genuine career development and Monday to Friday working, we'd love to hear from you.

Salary & Benefits

£33,600 basic salary for a qualified Vehicle Technician

£35,600 basic salary for Technicians who hold a current MOT Tester Licence

Up to 10% annual performance bonus

OTE: £36,960-£39,160

Monday to Friday working - no weekends

Modern, heated workshop with excellent facilities

No customer-facing responsibilities

Supportive team environment with no individual bonus pressure

Manufacturer-funded technical training

Hybrid & EV training available

Excellent career progression opportunities within a growing automotive group

Company discount and voucher scheme

Uniform provided

On-site parking

The Role

Working within the Sales Preparation team, you'll be responsible for ensuring used vehicles are prepared to the highest possible standards before being displayed for retail sale.

Your duties will include:

Carrying out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI)

Routine servicing and scheduled maintenance

Brake, suspension and steering repairs

Replacing batteries, exhaust components and other service items

Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical faults

Completing vehicle health checks

Preparing vehicles to retail standard

Carrying out final quality inspections before vehicles move through to MOT and valeting

This role focuses on light mechanical repairs and vehicle preparation rather than major engine or gearbox work.

About You

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent experience)

Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Service Technician or PDI Technician

A full UK driving licence

MOT Tester Licence (desirable but not essential)

A positive attitude with pride in producing high-quality work

The ability to work well within a team

Why Join?

Our client genuinely values their technicians and has created an environment where people enjoy coming to work. You'll benefit from modern equipment, experienced colleagues, ongoing investment in training and a management team that supports your development rather than simply chasing bonus targets.

Whether you're looking to build your career, improve your work-life balance or join a business that invests in its people, this is an outstanding opportunity.

Applications are welcomed from candidates with experience as: Vehicle Technician, PDI Technician, Service Technician, Diagnostic Technician, MOT Tester, Prep Technician, Automotive Technician, Master Technician, Workshop Technician, Fast Fit Technician, Mechanical Technician, Panel Technician, MET Technician, SMART Repair Technician, Vehicle Inspector, Workshop Controller and other automotive professionals
