A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a specialist engineering team based in Watford.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys practical engineering, fault finding and working on a wide variety of mechanical systems. Rather than carrying out routine maintenance, you'll be involved in building, modifying and maintaining bespoke mechanical and HVAC test rigs used to support innovative engineering projects.

No two days are the same, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a technically interesting and varied role.

The Role

*

Build, modify and maintain mechanical and HVAC test rigs.

*

Carry out fault finding, repairs and system improvements.

*

Install and modify pipework, pumps, valves and mechanical equipment.

*

Read and interpret engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.

*

Assemble and adapt test equipment using mechanical fitting, plumbing and fabrication skills.

*

Support the setup and operation of engineering test programmes.

*

Record test results and complete technical reports.

*

Work closely with engineers to continually improve testing equipment and processes.

*

Maintain workshop equipment and ensure high standards of health and safety.

About You

We're keen to hear from candidates with experience in:

Mechanical Maintenance

Building Services

HVAC

*

Commercial Plumbing

*

Mechanical Fitting

*

Facilities Maintenance

*

Industrial Maintenance

You will ideally have:

*

Experience maintaining or installing mechanical systems.

*

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

*

The ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.

*

A practical, hands-on approach.

*

Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Experience with electrical wiring, controls, instrumentation or fabrication would be advantageous but is not essential.
