Automotive Parts Manager
Location: Hounslow
Salary: £38,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00am to 4.30 pm.
We are recruiting for an experienced Parts Manager to join a busy fleet maintenance operation in Hounslow.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in automotive, commercial vehicles, HGV, LGV or fleet maintenance who is looking for a stable Monday to Friday role with responsibility and autonomy.
As Parts Manager, you will oversee the procurement, storage and distribution of vehicle parts, ensuring workshop operations run efficiently through effective stock management and supplier relationships.
Automotive Parts Manager Key Responsibilities
* Manage the procurement, storage and distribution of vehicle parts for a diverse fleet and third-party vehicles.
* Maintain accurate stock levels and oversee stock control across workshop locations.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
* Allocate parts to workshop jobs using fleet management systems.
* Monitor stock movements and maintain accurate inventory records.
* Order PPE, workshop consumables and office supplies.
* Manage vehicle warranty claims and liaise with manufacturers.
* Produce monthly reports and support operational performance reporting.
* Ensure KPIs and service standards are consistently achieved.
* Respond professionally to telephone and email enquiries.
* Identify opportunities to improve stock control and operational efficiency.
* Work closely with engineering and workshop teams to ensure parts availability supports maintenance schedules.
* Provide support across the wider fleet operation when required.
Automotive Parts Manager -What We're Looking For
* Previous experience as a Parts Manager, Stores Manager or Automotive Parts Advisor.
* Experience within a fleet, commercial vehicle, HGV, LGV or automotive workshop environment.
* Strong knowledge of stock control and inventory management.
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and stock management systems.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication and supplier relationship management skills.
* A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
