At SPX Radiodetection, we're looking for a Senior Buyer to work alongside our engineering teams, leading procurement activities for new product development while driving cost reduction, supplier performance and continuous improvement.
This is a highly collaborative, project-based role where you'll influence sourcing decisions from concept through to production and play a key part in delivering innovative products.
What you'll be doing
* Lead procurement activities for NPI projects.
* Partner closely with Engineering to support product development and engineering change.
* Manage large RFQ packages and supplier selection.
* Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Develop sourcing strategies and identify new suppliers.
* Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* Manage supplier performance, quality, delivery and risk.
* Travel to suppliers and other SPX sites as required.
What we're looking for
* Procurement experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
* Proven experience managing NPI or project-based procurement.
* Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience delivering cost reduction and continuous improvement programmes.
* Commercially minded with excellent negotiation skills.
* Able to work at pace and manage multiple priorities.
* Comfortable working closely with engineers and technical teams.
* Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
* Knowledge of mechanical, electrical or electronic components is desirable.
* CIPS qualification (or working towards) is an advantage.
