Do you want to grow your career in network engineering and work on projects that safeguard some of the UK's most critical systems? As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, configuring, and supporting secure network environments that keep critical services connected and protected.

You will lead the resolution of complex customer challenges in an agile, innovative, and collaborative environment. This role requires close engagement with technical teams, stakeholders, and customers to ensure successful delivery of secure networking solutions.

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong NSX/network virtualisation expertise to support the delivery of secure and complex infrastructure projects.

What You Will Do

  • Network virtualisation (NSX-T): design, configuration, and support of NSX-based networking environments

  • Software-defined networking: implementation of logical switching, routing, and micro-segmentation

  • Integration of NSX networking within virtualised and platform environments (eg VCF)

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco or equivalent multi-vendor network equipment

  • Network security technologies (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, segmentation)

  • Familiarity with virtualisation and cloud networking concepts

  • Network monitoring, diagnostic, and analytics tools

  • Understanding of ITIL and service management frameworks

  • Experience delivering within secure, enterprise, or defence environments

Desirable
  • VMware NSX-T deep expertise and certification (or equivalent experience)

  • VCF networking integration (vSphere, vSAN, Aria Suite)

  • Overlay/underlay network design concepts

  • Automation of network configuration (Ansible, Terraform, APIs)

  • Integration with security tooling (SIEM, SOC platforms)

  • Cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid connectivity
