Join GSL Education as an SEN Teaching Assistant in Scunthorpe!

GSL Education is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support schools across Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. This is a full-time, temporary position with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing tailored support to help them achieve their full potential both academically and socially. You'll play a vital role in creating a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
Encourage positive behaviour and promote independence.
Support pupils with their emotional, social, and personal development.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals where required.
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and support provided.

Requirements:

Availability to work Monday to Friday on a full-time basis.
Previous experience working in an educational setting, care environment, or support work role is desirable.
Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, or SEND are advantageous but not essential.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children with additional needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education).
