Site Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join our team on a major, high-profile infrastructure scheme. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a complex civil engineering project comprising large-scale earthworks, highways, drainage, and structural works.

Working as part of a collaborative delivery team, you will be responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.

Site Engineer Key Responsibilities

* Setting out works in accordance with design drawings and specifications.

* Managing engineering control and surveying activities across multiple work fronts.

* Carrying out as-built surveys and maintaining accurate site records.

* Producing and maintaining quality assurance documentation, including ITPs, check sheets, and inspection records.

* Reviewing drawings, technical specifications, and construction information to ensure accurate delivery.

* Raising and managing technical queries (TQs/RFIs) with the design team.

* Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are completed in line with programme requirements.

* Monitoring progress and reporting engineering updates to the Site Agent and Project Manager.

* Supporting the planning and sequencing of construction activities.

* Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

* Assisting with temporary works implementation and coordination where required.

Site Engineer Key Experience

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in several of the following areas:

* Previous experience as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

* Setting out using Leica or Trimble GPS, total stations, and digital surveying equipment.

* Delivery of large-scale earthworks, including cut and fill operations, bulk excavation, embankment construction, and ground modelling.

* Highways construction, including pavement layers, kerbing, drainage, road alignments, and associated infrastructure.

* Reinforced concrete and structural works, including foundations, retaining walls, culverts, bridge structures, headwalls, and reinforced concrete bases.

* Drainage installation, including foul, surface water, attenuation, and utility diversions.

* Quality assurance processes, including inspection and test plans (ITPs), material compliance, and handover documentation.

* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and digital design models.

* Managing subcontractors and coordinating engineering activities across multiple disciplines.

* Experience working to demanding construction programmes while maintaining quality and safety standards.

* Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements on large infrastructure projects.

* Experience working under NEC contracts (desirable).

Qualifications

* Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

* Valid CSCS Card.

* Full UK Driving Licence.
