About the Role
Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking experienced and passionate 1:1 Tutors to support pupils across local authority placements. These roles involve delivering tailored educational support to students who are currently out of school, awaiting school placements, or requiring additional academic support.
Tutoring sessions take place in person in a range of safe and appropriate settings, which may include homes, libraries, community centres, or other agreed local venues.
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers, experienced educators, or professionals seeking a more flexible work-life balance while continuing to make a meaningful impact on young people's education.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver 1:1 tuition tailored to individual learning needs
Plan and adapt lessons to support engagement and progress
Support pupils who may have additional needs, including SEN or SEMH
Build positive, trusting relationships with learners
Track progress and provide brief feedback to relevant professionals
Work flexibly across different locations as required
About You
We are looking for individuals who are:
Qualified teachers (QTS/QTLS) OR experienced tutors
Confident delivering core subjects (primary or secondary level)
Patient, adaptable and committed to supporting vulnerable learners
Experienced working with SEN or SEMH (desirable but not essential)
Able to work independently and manage their own sessions effectively
Seeking flexible, rewarding work alongside other commitments or retirement
