Empowering Learning Ltd is currently recruiting dedicated and resilient SEND Learning Support Assistants to work in a specialist school/provision in and around Islington, supporting both primary and secondary-aged pupils.
We are seeking proactive, hands-on individuals with experience supporting children and young people with Autism, PMLD, SEMH, and complex learning or behavioural difficulties. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact within inclusive and supportive educational environments.
These settings place equal importance on academic progress, emotional development, and personal care. Successful candidates will be confident supporting pupils both in their learning and with day-to-day care needs, while helping to create a positive, structured, and nurturing atmosphere.
About the Role:
Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Assisting across classroom and off-site learning activities
Helping manage behaviour in line with school policies
Supporting teachers with lesson delivery and preparation
Supervising pupils in and out of the classroom environment
Encouraging engagement, independence, and positive outcomesAbout You:
Passionate about working within SEND, SEMH, or PRU settings
Experience supporting individuals with Autism or additional needs (education or care background)
Calm, patient, and confident when working with challenging behaviour
Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
