Associate Director – Health, Safety & Wellbeing
London | Hybrid (4 days office / 1 day home)
We are looking for an experienced Associate Director – Health, Safety & Wellbeing to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across a diverse portfolio of operational, commercial, residential and retail environments.
This senior leadership role will drive a positive safety culture, lead high-performing teams, and ensure health, safety and wellbeing are embedded across all business activities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Health, Safety & Wellbeing team, driving performance and capability.
Provide strategic direction on health, safety and wellbeing across complex operational environments.
Influence senior stakeholders and ensure accountability for HSW performance.
Oversee risk management, audits, inspections and compliance programmes, including ISO 45001.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including CDM Regulations.
Lead incident management, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Drive HSW transformation programmes, innovation and best practice.
Develop strong relationships with regulators, contractors and key stakeholders.
Provide assurance and reporting to senior leadership on HSW performance and risk.
About You
Essential:
Degree, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent professional qualification
Chartered IOSH, IIRSM or equivalent membership
Significant experience leading health and safety within complex operational or construction environments
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and deliver organisational change
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, compliance and best practice
Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
