Data Analytics Engineer

Data Analytics Engineer | Hybrid | Basingstoke

We're working with a growing financial services business looking to bring in a Data Analytics Engineer to help build out their data platform from the ground up.

You'll own the end-to-end lifecycle of data products - ingestion, modelling and presentation - working closely with stakeholders across the business to turn raw data into something they can actually use and act on.

What you'll be doing:

Designing and building performant data ingestion pipelines using Apache Spark, ideally within Azure Databricks
Contributing to the platform's data modelling and architecture
Building dashboards and semantic models, and presenting these directly to stakeholders
Working across the full pipeline from source systems to target repositories, with a strong focus on data quality
Collaborating with Data Scientists to help productionise ML pipelines
Operating within an Agile/DevOps environment
What we're looking for:

Strong SQL and Python skills
Solid understanding of Lakehouse architecture and data management principles
Hands-on experience with Azure (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Storage, DevOps)
Experience designing Star Schema data models for Power BI
5+ years' experience building data platforms in a commercial setting
Nice to have:

Real-time pipeline experience
Azure Data Engineer certification
Exposure to Kafka or other open-source tools
Background in a regulated industry (finance/insurance)
