Our client, a prominent player in the highways sector, is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor for a contract role to join their team focused on delivering the Strategic Transformation Programme for the Land and Property Team. The programme aims to enhance the operational capacities of the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) through new builds, refurbishments, and decarbonisation of fire stations, aligning with GMCA's broader goals for modernisation, efficiency, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide commercial finance support for strategically important projects
Oversee the management of indirect costs, blending technical and relational skills
Support project managers, senior leadership, and stakeholders in day-to-day financial construction analysis and RIBA project management
Review and challenge externally prepared cost reports to assist with project valuations
Visit construction sites and attend monthly update meetings with contractors and stakeholders
Manage contract valuations, variations, interim payments, and final account agreements
Prepare, manage, and administer contract documentation, insurance requirements, and pre-construction information
Support co-ordination of completion, snagging defect inspections, and provide initial advice on claims and client liabilities

Job Requirements:

Qualified Quantity Surveyor with post-qualification experience
Experience in residential property or commercial mixed-use developments
Commitment to continuous self-development and service improvement
Expertise in cost planning, budgeting, procurement, and cost management from Strategic Definition through technical design
Proficiency in preparing monthly reports to support cost drawdowns
Ability to review external contractors' reports and identify key risks and issues
Strong communication skills to support project managers
Willingness to engage with external professional services
