With a proud heritage and a growing product range spanning frozen, ready-to-eat, plant-based and halal-certified lines, they are looking for an experienced Production Manager to join their Birmingham site.

About the Role
As Production Manager, you'll take ownership of day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You'll lead a busy production floor, manage a team of operatives and supervisors, and play a key role in driving continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
*
Oversee daily production operations, ensuring output meets volume, quality, and cost targets
*
Lead, motivate and develop the production team, including supervisors and shift staff
*
Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards (BRC/HACCP)
*
Monitor and improve production efficiency, minimising waste and downtime
*
Manage production schedules in line with customer demand and stock requirements
*
Work closely with technical, NPD, and quality teams to support product launches and specification changes
*
Drive a culture of continuous improvement (lean manufacturing principles)
*
Manage staffing levels, rotas, and performance across shifts
*
Report on KPIs and production performance to senior management
What We're Looking For
*
Proven experience as a Production Manager within food manufacturing (FMCG/chilled/frozen food background preferred)
*
Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and BRC accreditation
*
Excellent people management and leadership skills
*
Experience driving efficiency and continuous improvement on a production line
*
Strong communication skills and a hands-on, proactive approach
*
Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
