Senior AV Installations Engineer

Location: Hull, HU8 (Office & Site Based)
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Overview

We are looking for an experienced and technically skilled Senior AV Installations Engineer to join our growing team, delivering high-quality Audio Visual integration projects across commercial environments including leisure centres, council buildings, education, and public sector facilities.

This is a senior, hands-on role where you will lead the installation, commissioning, and technical delivery of complex AV systems while providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Working closely with Project Managers, design teams, clients, and contractors, you will ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of complex commercial AV systems, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical standards
Supervise first and second fix installation works, including structured cabling, equipment mounting, rack building, system integration, and final handover
Act as the primary on-site technical contact for clients, contractors, and internal teams, providing expert guidance and resolving technical challenges throughout the project
Mentor and support junior engineers through on-site training, technical guidance, toolbox talks, and quality assurance processes
Carry out system testing, fault finding, commissioning, remedial works, and scheduled maintenance while maintaining accurate technical documentation and quality records
Ensure compliance with company quality procedures, health & safety regulations, vehicle and warehouse standards, and ongoing professional development requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience

Extensive experience installing and commissioning commercial AV systems
Strong technical knowledge of AV integration, signal flow, networking, and system configuration
Excellent fault-finding, troubleshooting, and commissioning skills
Proficient in the use of AV installation tools, testing equipment, and commissioning software
Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) certified
Full UK Driving Licence
Strong communication skills with the ability to lead on-site teams and build positive client relationships

Preferred Qualifications

CTS or CTS-I certification
Experience leading large-scale commercial AV installation projects
Formal qualification in Electrical, Electronic, or Network Engineering
