Care Support Worker (Adults & Children's Services)

Location: Hertfordshire (Stevenage, Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City, Potters Bar, St Albans and surrounding locations)
Hours: 30-40 hours per week, including weekday, day services, night shifts and supported living opportunities

Guidant Global is a trusted recruitment partner for Hertfordshire County Council and is looking for compassionate and dedicated Care Support Workers to join our growing team across Hertfordshire. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to support adults and children with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, complex needs, age-related conditions, and mental health challenges across supported living services, residential services and day centres.

As a Care Support Worker, you will empower individuals to maintain their independence, dignity, choice, and well-being. Working as part of a dedicated care team, you will provide both practical and emotional support tailored to individual care plans.

Ideally you will have experience of working with adults and/or children in a residential setting or on a 1-1 basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide person-centred care and support
Assist with personal care, bathing, dressing and hygiene
Support mobility, moving and handling, and use of equipment
Administer medication (training provided)
Meal preparation, eating and drinking assistance
Emotional support, companionship and social interaction
Recreational, therapeutic and community-based activities
Household tasks including cleaning, laundry and shopping
Maintaining a safe, caring and inclusive environmentIdeal Candidate:

Minimum 6 months' UK care experience
Fluent English communication skills (verbal and written)
Compassionate, reliable and positive attitude
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and under pressure when required
Commitment to promoting independence, dignity and person-centred care
Good understanding of health and safety practices
Well-organised with excellent attention to detail
