Location: Blackpool, Lancashire (Academy)

Salary: £14.24 - £15.00 per hour (PAYE, Paid to Scale)

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 08:30 - 15:30 (Term-Time Only)

Contract: Temporary (September - December 2026, Autumn Term)

Are you a proactive and resilient Teaching Assistant looking for a meaningful full-time role in Blackpool? Join our inclusive Year 3/4 team for the Autumn term and help shape the emotional and academic success of our pupils as they settle into the new school year.

The Role: Supporting Emotional Regulation & Academic Interventions

This isn't just a general classroom role. You will be a vital anchor for Year 3/4 pupils who require extra guidance with social-emotional mental health (SEMH), consistency, and academic progression.

Alongside managing "bridge moments" and supporting emotional regulation, strong KS2 curriculum knowledge is required in this role. You will be actively responsible for delivering vital booster sessions and targeted interventions to aid lower Key Stage 2 pupils who require additional academic support to close learning gaps.

Your core responsibilities will include:

Utilising strong KS2 curriculum knowledge to lead booster sessions and academic interventions for Year 3 and Year 4 pupils requiring additional support.

Providing high-quality classroom support alongside the class teacher within a mixed Year 3/4 environment on a full-time basis.

Acting as a 1:1 "side-by-side" aid for pupils during periods of deregulation.

Implementing Nurture UK principles to understand behaviour as communication.

Delivering literacy support within our Read Write Inc. framework.

About Our Blackpool Academy

We are an inclusive school where "Nurture at Heart" isn't just a slogan-it's our practice. In partnership with Nurture UK, we provide a supportive environment for pupils from all backgrounds.

Literacy First: We are a dedicated Read Write Inc. school with a vibrant culture of reading for pleasure.

Expert Team: You will work alongside a pastoral team renowned for their "go the extra mile" attitude.

Inclusive Ethos: We believe in holistic development, ensuring every child, regardless of their starting point, can thrive.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have experience in behaviour management, academic interventions, or SEN support. We are looking for:

Curriculum Expertise: Robust knowledge of the lower Key Stage 2 curriculum (Years 3 and 4) to effectively support learning and lead tailored intervention work.

Patience & Empathy: A deep understanding of emotional regulation and trauma-informed practice.

Consistency: The ability to provide a stable, calm presence during busy school transitions throughout the five-day working week.

Adaptability: Someone who can shift fluidly from whole-class support to intensive 1:1 intervention.

Collaborative Spirit: A professional ready to work closely with our nurture and pastoral leads.
