An exciting opportunity has arisen for a reliable and dedicated full-time School Caretaker to join a successful secondary school. The school is looking for a proactive and hardworking individual to join the site team, helping to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker, site assistant or facilities professional to join a supportive team. The successful candidate will work alongside another Site Supervisor and a team of 6 cleaners to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school site.
Working Hours:
* Monday to Thursday: 6:30am – 3:00pm
* Friday: 6:30am – 11:30am
The Role
* Ensure the school buildings, grounds and facilities are safe, secure and well maintained.
* Carry out general maintenance, repairs and basic DIY tasks across the school site.
* Complete routine checks and report any issues relating to health and safety, security or maintenance.
* Open and close the school site when required.
* Support with the setup of classrooms, halls and facilities for lessons, events and activities.
* Work closely with the cleaning team and Site Supervisor to maintain high standards across the school.
* Monitor contractors and support planned maintenance works.
* Maintain outdoor areas, including general upkeep and seasonal duties.
* Respond to day-to-day site issues in a timely and practical manner.
* Follow safeguarding, health and safety and site security procedures at all times.
The Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience working in a caretaker, site, facilities or maintenance role.
* Good practical skills and knowledge of general maintenance tasks.
* The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
* A reliable, proactive and flexible approach to work.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
* The ability to build positive relationships with staff, students, contractors and visitors.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

* A termp to permanent, full-time position.
* Monday to Friday working hours with an early finish on Fridays.
