Are you a commercially minded finance leader who thrives in periods of change and transformation? We are recruiting for an experienced Head of Finance to join a values-led organisation at a pivotal point in its journey.
This is a rare opportunity to join an organisation embarking on a significant period of organisational restructuring and transformation. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play an integral role in shaping the future of the finance function and supporting the wider business through change, ensuring financial stability, strong governance and operational excellence throughout the transition.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Transformation, you'll lead the finance function, overseeing a team of nine while partnering with senior leaders to deliver strategic and operational objectives.
Alongside leading the day-to-day finance operation, you will be instrumental in supporting the organisation through its restructuring programme, helping to develop scalable financial processes, improve reporting, enhance controls and provide the commercial insight needed to drive informed decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and developing a high-performing finance team.
Producing monthly management accounts and statutory financial reporting.
Driving budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and long-term business planning.
Leading finance transformation through process improvement, systems enhancement and automation.
Supporting the organisation through a significant restructuring programme, ensuring robust financial planning and effective change management.
Managing treasury, cash flow forecasting, banking relationships and regulatory compliance.
Providing commercial insight and strategic financial support to the Executive Team and Board.
Supporting wider strategic initiatives, including organisational transformation, business planning and potential mergers and acquisitions.
About You
We're looking for a qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant with proven experience leading finance teams within a complex organisation.
You'll bring:
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
Experience leading budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
A track record of delivering finance transformation and continuous improvement.
Experience supporting organisations through periods of change, restructuring or business transformation.
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and business partnering skills.
The confidence to influence senior leaders and present financial information at Board level.
Experience within the charity or not-for-profit sector and knowledge of Charities SORP would be advantageous but is not essential.
