The Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer / Site Supervisor to support the successful delivery of workshop and site-based engineering projects. This is a hands-on role combining project coordination, site supervision, technical support, and customer-facing responsibilities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in planning and organising site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining excellent client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Operational Duties

Conduct site surveys and assessments in preparation for upcoming projects.
Produce and maintain Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for site activities.
Coordinate and manage materials, equipment, transport, and logistics for site work.
Carry out vibration analysis (VA) and pump testing activities.
Assist with site installations, maintenance activities, and breakdown support when required.
Provide workshop support during quieter project periods.
Develop and implement testing procedures and inspection processes.
Ensure all work is completed to agreed quality standards and customer expectations.
Deliver projects in line with planned schedules and deadlines.
Carry out strip-down inspections and produce detailed inspection reports.
Contribute to site visit reports in collaboration with Project Engineers.
Attend emergency breakdowns and undertake routine service work on customer sites.
Liaise directly with customers, providing a professional and responsive service.
Obtain and process job completion documentation.
Collect and process team time sheets, mileage records, and project-related documentation.Site Supervision & Team Leadership

Organise and supervise daily site activities.
Provide first-line support to engineers and technicians, resolving operational queries and issues.
Manage day-to-day site challenges, making effective decisions to maintain project progress.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company systems, procedures, and quality standards.
Promote a positive and professional company image at all times.
Ensure full compliance with customer site policies and procedures.Health & Safety

Ensure all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures are followed rigorously.
Promote a strong safety-first culture across all site and workshop activities.
Monitor working practices to ensure compliance with legislation, company standards, and customer requirements.
Actively identify and mitigate risks to maintain a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.Candidate Requirements

Mechanical engineering background with experience in industrial environments.
Experience supervising or coordinating site-based engineering projects.
Strong understanding of pumps, motors, rotating equipment, or related mechanical systems.
Working knowledge of RAMS preparation and permit-to-work systems.
Excellent organisational and planning skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Experience with vibration analysis, condition monitoring, or pump testing.
Knowledge of workshop repair and overhaul processes.
IOSH, SSSTS, SMSTS, or similar health and safety qualifications.
Experience working within manufacturing, utilities, or heavy industrial sectors
