A great new opportunity to join a Water sector specialist who has recently been awarded tier-one framework status with South West Water & Bristol Water.

My client, a national contractor with a company turnover of c£200 million, requires a Principal Mechanical Engineer to be involved in Turnkey clean water with values from £20 million to over £100 million.

As Principal Engineer you will co-ordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings, taking into account health and safety requirements, specifications and standards pertaining to the contract.

As Principal Engineer you will:

* Be responsible for producing cost-effective design layouts to meet specification requirements and which can be constructed and commissioned effectively.

* Ensure that designs take into account all environmental and health & safety requirements.

* Write, monitor and review procedures and processes, ensuring continued development of the department.

* Assist in supervising and developing staff.

* Coordinate designs with all internal and external stakeholders

* Provide estimates and feedback for the Proposals department.

* Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts.

Our client requires as Principal Engineer with:

* Excellent communication skills.

* HND/Degree in relevant engineering discipline

* A membership of a professional institution (chartered)

* Experience of producing designs of process plant systems, ideally within the Water sector.

* Previous experience with managing a team of staff

* The ability to present technical proposals clearly and with confidence

* A good general knowledge of all aspects of water treatment, e.g. mechanical engineering, process engineering, electrical engineering and project management

Salary and benefits include:

* £70,000 - £75,000 per annum

* Hybrid working

* Attractive benefits package including Car Allowance, Life Assurance, Pension, option to purchase additional annual leave
