Data Architect - Financial Asset Management
We're seeking an experienced Data Architect to define and establish an end-to-end data architecture for Financial Asset Management Transformation at a major UK airport. You'll lead the design of integrated data flows across finance, asset management, and engineering systems, transitioning them from manual reconciliation to automated, auditable, and scalable operations.
Asset data is currently fragmented across multiple systems (Theo, EcoSys, Maximo, Oracle, P6, CMDB, RAB tooling), with inconsistent life cycle traceability and heavy reliance on manual reconciliation. Your mission is to design a unified, scalable architecture that establishes Theo as the authoritative financial system of record, enables integrated event-driven data flows, and provides trusted, auditable foundations for FAR and RAB reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Define current-state and future-state data architecture across the asset life cycle (Plan - Project - Asset - Depreciation - Retirement)
- Design canonical asset data model, including asset hierarchy, life cycle states, and financial/regulatory attributes
- Establish systems of record for key data objects (Project, Asset, Financial Value, Regulatory Asset, Depreciation, Maintenance)
- Work with Business and Data & AI teams to assess data quality, establish baselines, and define remediation plans
- Co-design integration patterns and event-driven architecture with enterprise architects
- Define financial control processes and evidence architecture to reduce reliance on manual controls
- Establish data governance model with clear ownership, stewardship, and change control mechanisms
- Co-own requirements for data products and reporting layers (FAR, RAB, Capital Projects, Asset Lifecycle datasets
Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling
- Proven ability designing cross-system data architectures and integrations
- Deep understanding of data governance, stewardship, and lineage
- Experience with data quality frameworks and remediation strategies
- Knowledge of regulatory data requirements and financial reporting standards
- Proven problem-solving around data fragmentation, integration, and reconciliation challenges
- Strong ability to work collaboratively across business and technology stakeholders
