Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Support the design of mechanical systems and equipment for clean and wastewater treatment and non - infrastructure assets
Produce and check mechanical design calculations, specifications, schedules, and drawings
Assist with equipment selection, data sheets, and technical evaluations
Coo rdinate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, CDM regulations and health and safety requirements.
Support site activities, including inspections, commissioning, and fault investigations where required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
1 to 4 years experience in Mechanical engineering design, preferably within the water or wastewater industry.
Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
Understanding of mechanical systems such as pumps, pipework, valves, rotating equipment, and associated materials.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, such as CDM regulations and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Analytical mindset with problem - solving abilities and attention to detail
