Spencer Clarke Group are working with a welcoming primary school in Preston to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them feel safe, confident and ready to learn.
The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties, SEMH needs and barriers to learning. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide support on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and within the wider classroom environment.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will help pupils to access learning, develop independence, build positive relationships and engage successfully in school life.
You will be responsible for:
Providing tailored support to pupils with additional needs
Supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Helping pupils manage emotions, behaviour and transitions
Adapting learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher
Encouraging confidence, independence and positive engagement
Working closely with teaching staff, the SENCO and wider support team

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:
Patient, nurturing and resilient
Confident supporting children with additional needs
Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Calm under pressure and proactive in their approach
Reliable, flexible and committed to making a difference
A positive team player with strong communication skills
Experience within a school, care, youth work, residential support, psychology, mental health or SEND setting would be highly beneficial.
