We're looking for a Highways Operative to join our team based in Brixworth, Northamptonshire.
Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £28,000 to £29,800 per annum depending on experience and qualifications
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our highways maintenance team, where you'll play a vital role in delivering essential carriageway, footway and drainage works across the local area. As part of a close-knit team, you'll contribute to improving and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps our communities connected and safe.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Highways Operative, you'll be working within the maintenance team, supporting them in delivering high-quality highway repairs and improvements. Your day to day will include:
Operating light plant equipment including compressors, rollers, disc cutters and vibrating plates, whilst maintaining their daily upkeep
Assisting skilled team members with kerbing, drainage, paving, bricklaying and surfacing works
Excavating materials using hand and powered tools safely and efficiently
General site duties including sweeping, cleaning, litter picking and handling materials and equipment
Promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive working environment for all team members

You have previous experience working in highway maintenance or a similar field
You hold relevant certificates and qualifications for this type of work
You're collaborative and enjoy working closely with others to achieve shared goals
You're reliable, trusted and committed to delivering work safely and to a high standard
You have a valid driving license
