Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker looking for your next Children with Disabilities (CWD) contract with excellent pay, flexible working arrangements, and a manageable caseload?
We are currently working with a well-established South Coast local authority seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities Team on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive service that prioritises relationship-based practice, high-quality assessments, and positive outcomes for children and young people with disabilities and their families.
Working within the CWD Team, you will support children and young people with complex needs, ensuring they receive appropriate services, safeguarding support, and tailored care plans to maximise their wellbeing and development. About the Service You will be joining a dedicated Children with Disabilities Team committed to improving outcomes for children and young people with a range of complex needs and disabilities. The service places a strong emphasis on child-centred practice, partnership working with families, and ensuring children have access to the support and resources they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of children and young people with disabilities and complex needs
Undertake Child and Family Assessments and statutory assessments
Complete Care Act and Short Break assessments where appropriate
Develop, implement, and review child-centred care and support plans
Work closely with families, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies
Assess and manage safeguarding concerns in line with statutory guidance
Support children in need, child protection, and looked after children processes where required
Prepare high-quality reports, assessments, and court documentation when necessary
Ensure the voices of children and young people remain central to all planning and decision-making
About You
Qualified Social Worker
Registered with Social Work England
Recent experience within a Children with Disabilities, Safeguarding, Child in Need, or Assessment Team
Strong knowledge of legislation relating to children with disabilities and safeguarding
Experience working with children and young people with complex needs
Excellent assessment, care planning, and relationship-based practice skills
