Geotechnical Engineer

Location: Derby
Salary: £32,000 - £40,000

Are you a Geotechnical Engineer looking to join a friendly, growing consultancy where you'll gain hands-on experience across a variety of projects while developing your technical expertise?

A growing multi-disciplinary consultancy is looking to expand its Derby team with the addition of a Geotechnical Engineer. You'll work on a range of predominantly residential developments while gaining exposure to geotechnical design and geoenvironmental projects. With the support of an experienced team, this is an excellent opportunity to broaden your technical skills and progress your career.

The Role

Planning and supervising ground investigations.
Logging soil and rock to current industry standards.
Producing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports.
Undertaking geotechnical assessments and foundation recommendations.
Supporting the delivery of residential development projects.
Assisting with slope stability, retaining wall and foundation design.
Developing geoenvironmental knowledge, including contaminated land assessments and remediation support.
Liaising with clients, contractors and project teams throughout project delivery.Requirements

Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
Previous consultancy experience within geotechnical engineering or ground investigation.
Good understanding of geotechnical principles.
Strong report writing and communication skills.
Full UK driving licence.
